O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing - San Jacinto College Chorale
00:0000:00

TEXT ("Great Is the Lord")

Great is the Lord; ’tis good to praise

His high and holy name.

Well may the Saints in latter days

His wondrous love proclaim.

The Comforter is sent again,

His pow’r the Church attends,

And with the faithful will remain

Till Jesus Christ descends.

We’ll praise him for a prophet’s voice,

His people’s steps to guide;

In this we do and will rejoice,

Tho all the world deride.

To praise him let us all engage,

For unto us is giv’n

To live in this momentous age

And share the light of heav’n.

TEXT ("O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing")

O for a thousand tongues to sing

my great Redeemer's praise,

the glories of my God and King,

the triumphs of his grace!

My gracious Master and my God,

assist me to proclaim,

to spread thro' all the earth abroad

the honors of thy name.

He speaks! And listening to His voice

new life the dead receive;

the mournful, broken hearts rejoice;

the humble poor believe.

To God all glory, praise, and love

be now and ever given

while saints below and saints above

proclaim the light of heaven.
